General structure of the Pediatric ClerkshipIt is our hope that this rotation provides you with a broad-based exposure to inpatient Pediatrics, and encourages you to consider Pediatrics as a potential career choice. To assure that the goals outlined below are met, the clerkship is constructed to provide every student with the opportunity to focus on patients of various chronologic/developmental ages during the inpatient rotation. The clerkship consists of a 5-week period with assignments on inpatient services with one of several medical teams and assignments in acute ambulatory settings, newborn care, and subspecialty services. During the clerkship, there are a series of teaching conferences and demonstrations, and there are presentations given by yourself and your peers. There is an exam at the end of the clerkship and there are 2 evaluation and feedback sessions with the Clerkship directors, one after 2 weeks and the other after 5 weeks.
