COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Pathology 505 is intended for graduate students with primary interests in biomedical fields who are seeking a background in basic principles of mammalian pathology. The first four weeks are devoted to a survey of histology. Subsequent topics covered are: cell injury, inflammation, repair and regeneration, circulation, infectious disease, immunopathology, development/aging, neoplasia, and selected specialized diagnostic techniques.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION:
Each class session will begin with a formal lecture covering the topics for the day. Emphasis then moves to the laboratory material which is intended to illustrate the lecture topics. The laboratory is conducted with the use of work sheets, which require a response from the student. Informal discussion between faculty and students is encouraged. The session is concluded by a review of the laboratory material using both kodachromes and microprojector.
WHO/WHEN/WHERE:
The course will meet on Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 pm and Friday from 2:00-5:00 pm in room 2-8555. The first class meeting is January 16, 2004
