Strong Memorial Ambassador TeamWhether you’re a patient, family member or visitor, the moment you enter Strong Memorial Hospital you’re surrounded by staff who care about your comfort. As members of a customer service oriented program, the Ambassadors are well trained to meet your needs in directions and transportation assistance. They are also a convenient source for general information.

Ambassadors are located in multiple areas of the URMC campus, including Behavioral Health Services, Eastman Dental Center, Emergency Department, Patient Discharge, Wilmot Cancer Center and the Main Lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital. Conveniently positioned in the entryway of each location, an Ambassador is waiting to greet you with a smile and help you with any of the following services:

  • Meeting and greeting patients, families, visitors and staff members.
  • Arranging wheelchair assistance for patients, families and visitors.
  • Arranging courtesy cart transportation for patients, families and visitors.
  • Providing helpful directions to any URMC patient service within Strong, the URMC campus or URMC off-site locations.
  • Contacting taxis and medical cab transportation, as needed.
  • Supporting the Information Desk located in Strong’s main lobby, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Providing patient location information and appointment verification.
  • Supporting valet parking services at the Elmwood Avenue entrance Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Supporting the patient discharge area including patient mail and email, flowers and gift baskets.
  • Offering materials on lodging, local restaurants, shopping and attractions to visitors.
