Nursing Clinical Advancement System
Opportunities are available for career-long practice at Strong Memorial Hospital.
The Clinical Advancement System, in place since the 1980s, was developed through the work of a Steering Committee and an Advisory Committee composed of staff nurses, nurse managers and other nursing leaders. It provides a variety of options for nurses as they progress and seek additional responsibilities and advanced bedside, clinical or management roles.
The Clinical Advancement System is a dynamic system responsive to changes in the health care delivery system and the nursing profession and is oriented toward the future. The system includes 6 levels of practice from new graduate--Level 1--to Senior Nurse Manager or Advance Practice Nurse--Level 6. This clinical ladder provides opportunities for all RNs to exand and grow their nursing practice at Strong Memorial Hospital.
All positions require an active New York State license in good standing.
What is Magnet Status?
Magnet Status is an award given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to hospitals that satisfy a demanding set of criteria measuring the strength and quality of their nursing. This international nursing quality designation is enjoyed by only about 5% of hospitals in the country.
