Cardiothoracic Resident Teaching Schedule

Monday 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. Weekly Thoracic/Foregut Surgery Teaching Conference (Morton Rm) Topic Case presentations are given by CT residents, General surgical residents attendings or guests.  QA cases are discussed monthly.
7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Weekly Thoracic/Foregut QA Conference (Morton RM) Case review of all Thoracic/Foregut patients in hospital.
Tuesday 6:45 - 7:30 a.m. Weekly Cardiac Surgical Conference (Morton Rm 2-6210) Residents review cardiac in-patient service and participate in discussions on Quality Assurance, Benchmarking & Service-related issues.  M&M Conference is held the first Tuesday of each month.
Wednesday 7:00 - 8:30 a.m. Case presentations with detailed discussions of EKG, cath data, cines, TEE's, and indications and results of interventional or surgical operations.  Hicks presents surgical results on third week.
Thursday 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. Weekly Surgical Grand Rounds (Upper S-wing Aud, 3rd Floor)Department of Surgery Rounds with didactic presentations by Visiting Professors or local surgeons.  CT Surgery presents 3 to 4 times a year.
7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Weekly Congenital Cardiac Conference (4-5210) Case presentations of preoperative and postoperative patients and discussion of diagnostic studies and decision-making for management
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Weekly Clinical Pathology Conference (Upper S-wing Aud, 3rd Floor)CT or General Surgery Resident   on CT service presents 3 to 4 times a year.
Friday 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. Weekly Cardiac Teaching Rounds (Morton Rm 2-6210) Presentations of adult and pediatric cardiac surgery topics using Program for Comprehensive Cardiac Core Curriculum as established by TSDA.  Review of national meetings.  Combined Aortic Disease Conference to enhance endovascular education once a month.
12 Noon Biweekly  Transplant Teaching Conference (7-2346) Attended by Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Anesthesiology faculty and residents with didactic talks by attendings and visitors.
