The Offices of Technology Transfer, in cooperation with the Center for Entrepreneurship proudly present F.I.R.E. in January:
"Reasons to File a Patent on Your Research Discovery"
This month we will look at the reasons for filing patent applications (or other methods of intellectual property protection) on discoveries resulting from academic research.
Our presenter is Joseph M. Noto, Esq., a partner in Nixon Peabody. Mr. Noto's practice areas include Intellectual Property and Patent Prosecution, particularly in Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Cleantech, and Technology.

On an annual basis, Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success encourages regional representatives to communicate, share information about their unique programs, and connect entrepreneurs with local resources to help build and strengthen their efforts.
Through plenary sessions, a keynote speaker, and breakout sessions, this annual event provides a unique mix of inspiration and information.

Xconomy Forum: New York's Venture Emergence
With jobs growth anemic and full economic recovery still over the horizon, the stakes for creating innovative new companies are arguably higher than ever. "TEN and HTR—Entrepreneur Programs and Services in 2012 "
This month we will be discussing some of Rochester's greatest resources for entrepreneurs — The Entrepreneurs Network and High Tech Rochester. Our presenters will be Jean Kase, Executive Director of TEN and Mike Riedlinger, Commercialization Manager at HTR. Ms. Kase will discuss the Entrepreneurs Network and the upcoming Pre-Seed Workshop, and Mr. Riedlinger will discuss HTR, the services they provide, and upcoming events they are sponsoring. Come hear about the programs and services available through two UR affiliates to assist inventors, researchers, and entrepreneurs evaluate their business opportunities, learn from national and regional experts/serial entrepreneurs, and connect with business, technical and funding resources.
