For Inventors: Venture Capitalist-in-Residence
Venture Capitalist: n. An investor who provides capital to either start-up ventures or to support small companies who wish to expand, but do not have access to public funding.
The University of Rochester is fortunate to welcome Bela Musits as our "VC-in-Residence." One day each month, Bela will visit Rochester to speak with interested parties. Conversations might revolve around technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, business start-ups, or transferring technologies from academia to industry.
Anyone is welcome to make an appointment with Bela— researchers, faculty, staff, students, or community members—regardless of his or her interest, technology, or area of research. Bela will gladly speak with, or mentor, anyone who wants to meet with him.
This is not an opportunity to pitch a company, or idea, but an opportunity to have a conversation and to learn how a Venture Capitalist sees the world.
To schedule an appointment, call or e-mail Lisa Sheldon at 585.273.2486.
Bela's next scheduled visit is thelate morning and early afternoon of Tuesday, 10 May 2011 . Meetings will generally be held in the Hylan Building, but accommodations can also be made for meetings at the Medical Center, or at the Corporate Woods site of OTT.
