A 3 year-old child who weighs 32 pounds presents to the emergency department following ingestion of 20 ml of a methyl salicylate 15% solution.  On presentation, the child is vomiting and has the following vital signs: HR 130 beats/minute, BP 120/70 mm Hg, RR 36 breaths/minute, Temp 38oC.  The initial blood gas reveals the following:  pH 7.22, pCO2 18 mm Hg, pO2 120 mm Hg, HCO3- 16 mEq/L.

On a mg/kg basis, what is the equivalent dose of acetylsalicylic acid that this child has ingested?
