Link to Faculty Profiles From Your Website

We strongly encourage you to link directly to faculty profiles located in eCV, our faculty database application. This eliminates the need for multiple static faculty pages that may have different looks and types of information.

Below are instructions for linking to Patient View or Researcher View options of your faculty profile.

Patient View

  1. First, make sure you are logged onto the URMC network, either on campus or through VPN.
  2. Next, log in to the eCV application. To do this, go to http://ecv.mc.rochester.edu. Log in using your network username and password.
  3. In the search field in the upper right of your screen, enter the faculty member's last name and press Enter.

  4. If more than one result appears, choose the correct one by clicking the linked name.
  5. Options for viewing faculty eCVWhen you arrive at your faculty profile page, you will see an options section on the right of the screen. Choose the option, "View Web Profile."
  6. By default, you will see the Patient View of your eCV.
  7. Copy and paste the last portion of the http address. For example:
    /web/index.cfm?event=
    doctor.profile.show&person_id=12345
  8. In the page you would like to add the link to your faculty profile, insert the copied link address into your link.*

Researcher View

  1. Follow steps 1-6 above.
  2. Click the link below the faculty member's name on the web profile, "See information for Researchers."
  3. Copy and paste the last portion of the http address. For example:
    /web/index.cfm?event=
    doctor.profile.show&person_id=1001684&display=for_researchers
  4. In the page you would like to add the link to your faculty profile, insert the copied link address into your link.*
