Current research projects include:

Music therapy in the management of childhood cancer and bone marrow transplantation. The overall aim of this research, which is being conducted in cooperation with Bryan C. Hunter, PhD, MT-BC, Director of the Music Therapy Program at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, is to evaluate the effect of music therapy interventions on stress reduction and pain management in children undergoing cancer therapy, and patients of all ages undergoing bone marrow transplantation.

Use of music therapy during Botulinum toxin injections. The overall aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of music therapy in providing pain management during a painful procedure, in this instance, injection of Botulinum toxin, Type A (Botox) to reduce muscle spasticity and hypertonia in children with cerebral palsy and other brain injury.

Studies using biofeedback, yoga, guided imagery, and acupressure are being developed.
