Dr. Riegler received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1970. He completed 2 years of general surgery at the University of Rochester / Strong Memorial Hospital and then completed his orthopaedic residency in 1975 at the same institution. He has been in a private practice at Highland Hospital since 1975 as a valued orthopaedic practitioner and teacher at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Since 1995 he has been Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and was instrumental in creating the Evarts Joint Center in 2005. Dr. Riegler is a pioneer of hip resurfacing procedures and currently is using the FDA-approved Birmingham Resurfacing System. Dr. Riegler is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is board certified.
