Dr. Christy's research interests are:

1) Tuberculosis

2) Asthma

3) Influenza Vaccine

Her research interests lie in solving clinical infectious disease problems, especially as related to the delivery of health care and the best utilization of preventive strategies.

She has investigated appropriate screening criteria to identify children at high risk for tuberculosis. Another study underway is to test whether the effectiveness of influenza vaccine prevents asthma exacerbations in children with asthma.

In addition, Dr. Christy has participated in or directed numerous population-based studies of infectious diseases, including randomized field trials of rotavirus and pertussis vaccines, the evaluation of screening criteria to identify TB infection, and of influenza vaccine in children with asthma.
