Dr Betty Rabinowitz was born in Johannesburg South Africa. At age 6 she immigrated to Israel with her family. She graduated the Ben Gurion University Medical School where she also completed a residency in Internal Medicine. She came to the United States in 1990 for a fellowship in Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, joining Clinton Medical Associates in 1992. She is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester. She has been closely involved with the implementation of the electronic medical record at the University of Rochester Medical Center, as the medical center's Ambulatory Medical Information Officer. In addition to computers in her spare time she enjoys woodturning.
