Portrait

Dr. Powers has been active in investigating visiting procedures and their effects in both pediatric and adult ICUs. This project was sponsored by the Society for Critical Care Medicine; Dr. Powers served as the pediatric representative on the steering committee, and was a primary author of the recommendations that stemmed from this work. She has recently developed an interest in the clinical roles of glutamine supplementation in critically ill pediatric cardiac surgery patients and is currently finishing a collaborative protocol in partnership with our pediatric cardiac surgeons.
