Dr. Swantz' research interests are undergraduate medical education and health systems quality. Dr. Swantz directs the 3rd year clerkship and 4th year sub-internship for the Department of Pediatrics. He is involved with the Dean's office in the design, implementation, management and evaluation of the medical school curriculum. Dr. Swantz also participates in the quality assurance and improvement activities for the Division of Neonatology and is involved in the development and review of quality indicators and outcome measures.
