Dr. Laroia's research interests have focused on neonatal seizures, especially those related to stroke and hypoxic ischemic injury in the newborn. Her work has included development of criteria for long term EEG monitoring in neonates at risk for seizures.
Current projects include study of neuroprotective strategies in infants with hypoxic ischemic injury, long-term follow up of infants with neonatal stroke and intraventricular hemorrhage.
