Dr. Vermilion's research interests include: Inflammation and elevated blood pressure in children and adolescents in collaboration with Drs. M.B. Lande, T.A. Pearson, P. Auinger, and D. Fernandez; Elevated Risk of Thrombosis in Infants Undergoing Stage I Surgical Palliation in collaboration with Drs. J.M. Cholette, J.S. Rubenstein, G.M. Alfieris, M.P. McDermott, W.G. Harmon, M.P. Eaton, J.J. Gangemi, and N.B. Lerner; A simplified method of measuring central aortic pulse wave velocity in the pediatric population - method and normal values in collaboration with C.O. Jo; Characterizing Aortic Wall Stiffness by Pulse Wave Velocity in Patients with Kawasaki Disease with Dr. C. Jo; A prospective, randomized, controlled, clinical trial comparing two transfusion strategies in pediatric patients undergoing cavopulmonary connection in collaboration with Drs. J. Cholette, G. Alfieris, R. Cable, M. Eaton, J. Gangemi, N. Lerner, and J. Rubenstein. He is also collaborating with Drs. M. Lande and L. Gebhardt on Pulse Wave Velocity in Children and Adolescents with Hyperlipidemia or Elevated Blood Pressure.
