Dr. DiGiovanni's sees patients of all ages. His special expertise includes ankle arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction, arthritic conditions, sports medicine injuries, and fractures and dislocations of the foot and ankle. He is an active researcher, with a particular interest in plantar fasciitis and chronic ankle pain in the athlete.
Dr. DiGiovanni earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery and research. Then, he completed Foot and Ankle fellowships at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He has authored numerous medical articles and orthopaedic surgery textbook chapters. Dr. DiGiovanni is Director of the Foot and Ankle Fellowship program at URMC Orthopaedics and Director of Musculoskeletal Curriculum at University of Rochester School of Medicine. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and Associate Professor of Orthopaedics.
