Dr. Ren specializes in children's breathing problems. His special expertise is in lung function testing in infants and young children, and Golisano Chilren's Hospital is one of the few places in the country capable of measuring lung function in infants and children of all ages. Conditions that Dr. Ren focuses on include cystic fibrosis, asthma, wheezy infants, bronchiolitis, and bronchitis. His approach to patient care is to work with patients and families through a step by step process to determine the cause of the patient's problems and then devise a treatment plan to take care of the problem. Throughout this process, the patient, the family, and the health care team work together to achieve the common goal of maintaining lung health.
