Dr. John P. Goldblatt is a board-certified and fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon and an Assistant Professor in URMC Orthopaedics' Division of Sports Medicine. Dr. Goldblatt's specialty interests include injuries to the shoulder and knee. His treatment of shoulder problems includes arthroscopic correction of throwing injuries, rotator cuff disease, and shoulder instability. Additionally, his treatment of knee injuries includes arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and multiple ligament reconstructions (knee dislocations) including the lateral and medial collateral ligaments. He also performs articular cartilage repair, including autologous chondrocyte transplantation, and allograft osteochondral grafting for salvage of lesions of the knee cartilage. Dr. Goldblatt performs meniscus repair, and has a unique talent for meniscus transplantation. He has written several peer reviewed articles, and continues to be involved in clinical research. Dr. Goldblatt is the primary physician for the Rochester Rhinos and University of Rochester athletes, and shares responsibility for the remaining professional teams in the Rochester area.
