Dr. Yi-Horng Lee joins the University of Rochester Medical Center as an Assistant
Professor of Surgery. A native of Taipei, Taiwan, he earned his undergraduate degree
from Columbia University and his medical degree from the College of Medicine, State
University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn.
Prior to joining URMC, Dr. Lee completed general surgery residencies at the University
of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He also completed fellowships in transplant research and
surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Lee was a pediatric surgery resident in the Division of Pediatric
Surgery, Department of Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo and the
Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo. While
there, he later served as assistant professor of surgery and an attending surgeon.
Dr. Lee has also been a consultant surgeon to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Licensed in the states of Iowa, New York and Pennsylvania, Dr. Lee is American Board Certified. He is a member of professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the American Pediatric Surgical Association, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, International Pediatric Endosurgery Group, American Academy of Pediatrics Surgical Section and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
Dr. Lee has authored a wide variety of publications and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. He has also been engaged in several research studies as well as extramural funding efforts for research such as the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program (ECRIP).
