Portrait

I was born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and grew up in the suburbs of New York City. I completed my pediatric residency including a year as a Chief Resident at S.U.N.Y Downstate in 2005.

In the year after completion of residency, I worked at the Yonkers Family and Community Health Center, participated in a medical mission to Haiti, took medical Spanish classes in Buenos Aires and performed several months of locum tenens work as a pediatrician in rural Mississippi. In July of 2006, I began my fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA). My fellowship involved many unforgettable experiences including traveling to Mongolia and serving as President of the Southern California Regional Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Medicine.

After completing my fellowship I joined the faculty in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the University of Rochester in July of 2009. My interests include reproductive health care, working with pregnant and parenting teens, homeless youth and youth with chronic illness locally as well as internationally.
