Dr. Nicandri's medical practice focuses on the care of knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries. He believes strongly in the importance of staying active as we age and has special expertise in treating sports-related injuries that occur in adult athletes. The treatments Dr. Nicandri offers range from arthroscopy to total shoulder and elbow reconstruction.

Dr. Nicandri, a native of Rochester, earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Washington. Following his residency, Dr. Nicandri completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Duke University and served as Assistant Team Physician for the Blue Devil Football and Basketball Teams. Dr. Nicandri has researched and authored articles on preferred surgical techniques to repair athletic injuries and the safety of injured patients. He is board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Nicandri is an Assistant Professor in URMC Orthopedics' divisions of Sports Medicine and Shoulder and Elbow Services.
