Lactation Coordinator for Maternal-Fetal Care and UR Medicine's Golisano Children’s Hospital

Donna started her nursing career as a bedside care nurse in the NICU over 37 years ago. She began the transition to her current role as a board-certified lactation consultant 15 years ago, and now coordinates the lactation service initiatives to support, educate, and empower mothers and families to provide the single best gift they can give to their infants. Donna also works with pediatricians in the community to help mothers in their homes, providing evidence-based breastfeeding support in the post-hospital discharge, breastfeeding continuum. Decades of working with complicated neonates and healthy newborns does not take away from her focus to meet the needs and goals of individual families and to grow their infants on mother's milk and breastfeeding. She looks forward to the expanding programs offered at UR Medicine and the expansion of the breastfeeding clinic, breastfeeding support groups, and area Baby Cafés.
