What is the National Cancer Moonshot?

During President Obama's State of the Union address, he announced the establishment of the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative to accelerate cancer research.

The goal of this initiative—led by Vice President Joe Biden—is to make more therapies available to more patients, to improve our ability to prevent cancer, and to find better ways to detect cancer at an early stage.

A national effort with local involvement.

On June 29th, a select group of local leaders will meet to discuss how we can contribute to this important effort. 

The ideas generated at our summit will be submitted to Vice President Biden’s National Cancer Moonshot Initiative and implemented locally.
