ENLITE PD: Light Therapy for Impaired Sleep in Parkinson's Disease Patients
Research Question:
Will light therapy help people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) who experience difficulties
with their sleep? Is light therapy safe and does it cause side effects?
Basic Study Information
Purpose:
The study goal is to determine the best dose of light therapy needed to improve sleep
in people with Parkinson's Disease. Four groups of participants will receive bright-white
or dim-red light therapy at different times throughout the day. Eligibility: Diagnosis
of Parkinson's Disease; Significant sleep problems; Willing to wear an Actiwatch and
complete daily sleep logs; Age 45 or above

Study Details:
It will take you about 4 months to complete this research study. During this time,
we will ask you to make 5 study visits to The University of Rochester Medical Center
and complete 3 phone calls. In person visits will take 3-4 hours and telephone calls
will take 10-15 minutes.
