Professional Background

Dr. Jeanne O'Brien is a professor of urology and male infertility in the Department of Urology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr. O'Brien completed her medical school education at Loyola University in Chicago. She went to residency at the University of Rochester where she completed two years of General Surgery training and subsequently 4 years of Urologic Residency training. Dr. O'Brien went on to complete advance training in microsurgery and male infertility with a fellowship at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

She is Board Certified in Adult Urology and is recognized annually in Who's Who's in American Medicine and Best Doctors in America.

Dr. O'Brien has received numerous awards and recognitions for both her clinical science and basic science research work and has published in all of the major urology journals as well as the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). She is an active member of the American Urologic Association, American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Male Reproductive urologists. Her opinion is often solicited from major news organizations regarding male fertility issues.
