Patient Care Setting

Dr. Muchnik received his medical degree from Rutgers University. He completed his Internal Medical Residency at the University of Rochester in 2014 and his Oncology / Hematology Fellowship at the University of Rochester in 2018. During Dr. Muchnik's last year of Fellowship he was a Chief Fellow.

Dr. Muchnik cares for patients with benign and malignant hematologic conditions including coagulopathies and cytopenias. In addition, Dr. Muchnik cares for the full spectrum of oncologic disorders providing a holistic approach to cancer care by focusing on the latest treatment modalities of cancer treatment, including the use of immunotherapy and targeted molecular treatments.

"I became an oncologist after experiencing the loss of a close family member to metastatic cancer. I understand that cancer treatment is as much about treating the disease as it is about appreciating the humanistic impact that a cancer diagnosis has on the patient and their families".

Dr. Muchnik has published on the role of hypoxia in regulating anemia, the role of platelet dysfunction and bleeding diathesis in patients with mechanical cardiac assist devices and has a publication pending about the efficacy and toxicity profile of immunotherapy in elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Dr. Muchnik is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is Board eligible in Medical Oncology and Board eligible in Hematology.

Dr. Muchnik enjoys spending his spare time by embracing the outdoors with his wife, who is a cardiologist at FF. Thompson and with his new son, Evan.
