Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Morrell at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Rochester NY, USA. Candidates will be involved in projects investigating roles of platelets in vascular inflammation, immune responses, and immune development. The Morrell lab is very multidisciplinary, collaborative, and integrated into a rich cardiovascular research environment comprised of basic science researchers and clinicians at the Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute. Positions will provide excellent training opportunities in understanding the intersection of thrombosis, vascular inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases.
Qualifications: Required qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., or equivalent degree and ideally experience in cardiovascular biology, immunology, or related fields. Experience with mouse models, small animal surgeries, and microscopy are desirable. Candidate should have familiarity with cell and molecular biology methods, imaging, transgenic mice, and tissue culture techniques. The applicants are expected to design and conduct experiments, write fellowship/grant applications, and scientific manuscripts.
