Reasons to See Us

Infant covering ears The most common reasons your child would be referred to our office is for the evaluation of a heart murmur or because your primary care physician suspects a possible heart problem. It is important to stress "heart murmur" is not a diagnosis, but simply means an extra sound coming from the heart. Most heart murmurs in children are normal.

Other reasons for referral may include:

  • Chest pain
  • Family history of heart problems/disease
  • High blood pressure/hypertension
  • High cholesterol
  • Passing out/dizziness (Syncope)
  • Palpitations
