Pediatric Bone Health Program

Kids running through field

The Pediatric Bone Health Program is a multidisciplinary program made up of providers in a variety of specialties across the Medical Center, including pediatric endocrinology, orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, hospitalist medicine, physical therapy, dentistry, and radiology.

Our goal is to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for the evaluation and management of pediatric bone disease and to advance the field of pediatric bone health through clinical and translational research and medical education.

Clinical Evaluations

Patients are seen by a metabolic bone specialist and also receive a nutritional assessment by a registered dietician.

Inpatient Services

We evaluate and manage any acute or chronic metabolic bone issues that arise in patients admitted to Golisano Children's Hospital.

We offer bisphosphonate therapy as an inpatient or outpatient treatment, depending on the severity of the case.

Transition to Adult Bone Health Program

When the time comes for patients to transition to adult care, we work closely with our colleagues in the URMC Center for Bone Health and Adult Endocrinology to make this process as easy as possible.
