RE/MAX Realty Groups Create More Miracles with Fundraisers

For several years, RE/MAX groups from around the region have come together to participate in the business’ Miracle Home program, where agents have the opportunity to make a donation in support of Golisano Children’s Hospital with each home transaction. Miracle Home participants include the RE/MAX Realty Group, RE/MAX Plus, and RE/MAX Hometown Choice in Lakeville and Dansville. Thank you to each of the agents who played a role in the success of last year’s program. We appreciate your drive and dedication to our patients.

In addition to holding the Miracle Home program, RE/MAX Plus held its third annual golf tournament Aug. 18, 2014, at Locust Hill Country Club. More than 200 sponsors and golfers from the real estate community raised $18,000 in support of naming a patient room in the new children’s hospital building.

In total, the Miracle Home program and RE/MAX Plus Golf Tournament raised close to $40,000 for our region’s sick and injured children.

“We can’t thank RE/MAX enough for its continuous support of our community and its children,” said Betsy Findlay, director of special events and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Advantage Federal Credit Union Makes a Difference

Advantage donationGolisano Children’s Hospital continues to benefit from Advantage Federal Credit Union’s generosity. The credit union came up with many creative ways to support our patients, raising almost $10,000 last year.

During a Red Wings Challenge, called Donations for Doubles, every double hit made by a player at a home game resulted in Advantage giving the children’s hospital $25. The challenge raised $3,875. In addition to being a sponsor at the 2014 Stroll for Strong Kids Walk and 5K Run, Advantage was also a patron sponsor, with a $2,500 donation, at the 2014 Golisano Children’s Hospital Gala.

Several company promotions, including a debit card give back and a “Rochester Challenge” for auto loan applications totaled a donation of $3,000. In addition to monetary donations, Advantage staff donated more than 150 gifts to Golisano Children’s Hospital over the holidays.

“The effort Advantage puts into its fundraising is greatly appreciated,” said Betsy Findlay, director of special events and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We value knowing we have its support and look forward to continuing to work with Advantage in the future.”

Dixon Schwabl Stays Up for 24-hours with Extra Life

Dixon SchwablThank you to Dixon Schwabl for participating in Extra Life in support of Golisano Children’s Hospital last fall! The Children’s Miracle Network Hospital event is a 24-hour gaming marathon where participants play games of their choice in an effort to raise money for sick and injured kids in their communities.

With the combined fundraising efforts of nine participants from Dixon Schwabl the group raised close to $4,000. Employees were visited throughout the day by friends and family as they kept busy playing a variety of games, ranging from single-player games like World of Warcraft and Call of Duty to group games like Rock Band, NHL Hockey, and Halo. Inspired by the company’s involvement, Gamin’ Ride, a mobile video game party, reached out to Dixon Schwabl and donated its trailer for four hours, providing gamers with a change of scenery and more interactivity.

“The Gamin’ Ride trailer can accommodate up to 16 people playing against each other on the inside and an additional eight people on the outside,” said Ian Auch, motion graphics artist at Dixon Schwabl. “It was really fun to play some games where everyone could play together.”

Red Bull, coffee, and a popular card game known as Cards Against Humanity helped supply enough energy to get through the days’ final hours.

“Dixon Schwabl has been a large supporter of the children’s hospital and its patients and families for a number of years,” said Betsy Findlay, director of special events and Children Miracle Network Hospitals. “The dedication from its employees and how they’ve contributed to the future of health care for our children as an organization has been incredible.”

In total, the Rochester community raised $27,000 for the Finger Lakes region’s only children’s hospital. Thank you again to all of the dedicated gamers who participated, and to Gamin’ Ride, for your support and love of play!
