Child Life specialists work closely with children and adolescents to help them emotionally prepare for surgical procedures and understand what they’re being treated for and why. The department is requesting items like comfort box supplies to help distract and alleviate anxiety for children undergoing medical procedures. Children's Teaching Books for Ports and Central Lines (1) These books will be used by the Child Life Specialist to help teach and prepare children for their medical procedure. They are written in a manner that will help children understand why they need to have this procedure. $200

The Newborn Baby dolls will be used in the playroom for children to engage in dramatic play. $ 105

Children's Play Table (21" high) The Drop-in Care Program would like a new table for the children to play at and this 21inch high table will allow the older children to play at it as well.  This provides a safe place for children while waiting for siblings who have appointments. $ 300

Children's Play Table (24" high) The Drop-in Care Program, which allows for a safe play area, would like a 24" high table that will allow the older children to play at a table that would accommodate their size. $300

Care Bags for Children in the ED (150 for a set) (2) The Care Bags are bags that will be given out to children 3 yrs and older who are in the Pediatric Emergency Department receiving care.  These provide activities for the child to do while they are there and that they can keep. $360

Portable DVD Players (3) DVD players are needed to help with children who have limited mobility in their beds and needs diversion and relaxing activities to engage in. Parents may also bring in familiar movies to help comfort their child and will need a DVD player to use.   $145 each

Childrens's Chairs (13" tall) (3) The Drop-in Care Program is in need of new chairs for the children. This are provides a safe environment for children to play while waiting for siblings appointments $135 each

Wooden Train for Tables (Thomas the Tank and Friends Engines) (6) Trains are needed for the children to play with on the tables located in Pediatric Treatment Center, 4-3600 inpatient unit and the play deck. $25 each
