Community Shines as ROCstars for Annual ROC the Day
The United Way of Greater Rochester’s annual 24-hour ROC the Day event proved once again that our local community and the success of its nonprofits means a lot to Rochester.
With the help of a generous $5,000 matching challenge from an anonymous community pediatrician and the wonderful support of Golisano Children’s Hospital advocates, we were able to raise $16,033. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Richard Bloom, M.D., of Fairport Pediatrics and the work he did as fundraising chair for the special day.
We sincerely appreciate all of the efforts made in spreading the word about being ROCstars for our sick and injured patients. Whether it was community pediatricians mailing reminders in holiday cards, patient families sharing the online giving campaign on social media, or our faculty and staff posing for photos with the event poster, everyone made a great difference!
