Grant Domogala has overcome the odds time and time again since being diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia eight years ago. He has undergone three open-heart surgeries and countless medical procedures, but continues to fight while living in heart failure.

Kelly gave birth to Hunter in 2007 and he’s been getting treatment of his XLA at UR Medicine’s Golisano Children’s Hospital since he was two months old. Hunter receives monthly transfusions of immunoglobulins to help him fend away any diseases that may come his way. The treatment is life-long and restores some of his missing antibodies.

Volunteer Spotlight: Halisha's Toy Chest

What started as a coping mechanism for David and Donna Isaacs has turned into one of the most generous recurring toy donations received monthly at Golisano Children’s Hospital. The Isaacs lost their daughter, Halisha, in 1995 at age ten. She was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of 2 and was in and out of the hospital for eight years. The Isaacs recall some of her happiest moments in the children’s hospital were when she was playing with the other children in the hospital.

Long before she was born, Grace’s parents, Jennifer Johnson and Vinnie Esposito, have given back to Golisano Children’s Hospital. And this year, they will serve as honorary chairs of the 29th Annual Golisano Children’s Hospital Gala at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center on Oct. 22.
