The Palliative Care Team realizes that life after the death of a child is not easy, however you are not alone during this time.
Every family who receives care at Golisano Children’s Hospital is eligible for free counseling and supportive services from our Bereavement Program. We offer supportive counseling to families in the hospital who are coping with a chronic or long term illness, bereavement support after a loss and education on how to navigate the ups and downs of losing a child.
The support group, Strong Arms in Infant Loss, meets twice a month at the Ronald Mc Donald House for parents who have had an infant loss. Contact our Bereavement Coordinator to confirm your attendance.
We are also connected to several local organizations that specialize in providing support groups for parents, siblings and other family members. If you are not in the Rochester, NY area, we are happy to refer you to professionals close to home.
