We Challenge You to Help Children

Sandy in WinterDonations will help expand our bedside medical research and communicate new discoveries to patients, families, and medical care teams. Funding would provide both immediate and long term benefits to our medical community. In the short term, patients and families will have an enhanced bedside opportunity to learn about and participate in important research trials. In the long term, we will enhance the ability for our research discoveries to change the outcome of disease. These funds will be instrumental in maintaining and growing the excellent quality of medical care at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

The Talon’s Ski Challenge - Saturday March 2, 2013

In the Talon’s Challenge, an organized event at Beaver Creek, Colorado, Dr. Kate Ackerman will tackle over 24,000 vertical feet in one day to complete 14 black diamond and double black diamond ski trails. These high altitude runs include the World Cup Birds of Prey downhill course as well as difficult mogul runs on Grouse Mountain and in Larkspur Bowl. Dr. Ackerman shares that the “prize for completing this event is a Bud Light, a Brat, and a place on a wall of fame. The real prize, however, will be the start of something that is critically important to maintaining and growing the best quality care that we can provide at Golisano Children’s Hospital.” Kate Ackerman Challenge 2013
