Moving in and training in the new hospital

Jun. 18, 2015

The new Golisano Children's Hospital will be opening in just a few weeks! Rooms throughout the hospital are beginning to look more complete with furniture, equipment, and a few faculty members. Nurses and other members of the medical team have been busy learning and training in a very different environment, becoming experts on the new Voalte communication system, Hugs Infant Protection security system and more.

Pediatric administrative faculty, including residency program administration, officially moved into their offices this week! Now located on the first floor of the children's hospital, administrative faculty are excited to have a new home.

Computers have been hooked up on patient floors and the GetWell Network, an engaging and comprehensive interactive system for patients and families, has been installed in many of the bedside televisions. Nurses also began training this week, spending time in the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and learning more about our new communications system that will allow them to analyze patient vitals from wherever they are in the children's hospital.
