Integrating Special Populations

The UR CTSI is dedicated to integrating special populations — like those distinguished by language, disability, condition, risk, culture, geographic location/dispersion, socioeconomic status, race or ethnicity — into our programs at all levels. With our expertise in community engagement and commitment to promoting diversity in the translational science workforce, we can help you integrate special populations into your research team or as participants in your health research studies. Our team has particular expertise in working with older adults, children, Latinx population, and Deaf sign language users and people with hearing loss.

Our team will recommend approaches and resources used successfully with a specific population, or will work collaboratively with the research team and community partners to adapt approaches and resources for use with a new population or in a new setting.

Request a Consultation

Investigators, research team members, trainees and community members can request a consultation from the Integrating Special Populations team by contacting John Cullen.
