Research Centers in Minority Institutions Scholarly Exchange

The UR CTSI offers research faculty, staff, trainees and students who are underrepresented in biomedical research up to $3,000 to support collaborations with their counterparts at Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI). These centers are part of the RCMI program, supported by the National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities, which aims to foster the next generation of researchers from underrepresented populations.

Amount Awarded: $3,000 per project.

Total projects awarded: Maximum of five (5) per academic year.

The UR-RCMI Scholarly Exchange Program provides support for training opportunities, networking, project development, research placement, and pilot research data gathering with the goal of producing abstracts, publications, or joint-grant applications among colleagues from different cultures, disciplines, and academic appointments.

Eligibility

Individuals underrepresented in the biomedical research workforce who are faculty, staff, advanced trainees (post-docs, residents, etc.), or students (graduate and undergraduate level) in current active standing within University of Rochester and RCMI Institutions are eligible to apply.

Deadlines

November 8, 2021, by 5:00 pm: Applications must be received.
November 22, 2021: Award notifications will be made.
May 15, 2022: All expenses and scholarly exchange activities must be completed prior to this date.
