National COVID Cohort Collaborative
There is no shortage of clinical data across the U.S., but these data differ in structure and are not easy for scientists to access or analyze collaboratively. The National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) is an open science community that unites and harmonizes COVID patient data, enabling collaborative analytics across Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program hubs, which included the University of Rochester.
University of Rochester researchers can access secure COVID patient data through the N3C Data Enclave and can join or start N3C Domain Teams, which enable researchers with shared interests to analyze data collaboratively within the N3C Data Enclave. Domain teams range in research focus from COVID vaccination to the impact of COVID on older adults, and from defining long COVID to studying outcomes of cancer patients who contract COVID – and many more.
