Ghinwa Dumyati, MD, Contributes to Nationwide Study on Healthcare Associated Infections

Patients’ hospital-based infection risk is slowly declining as a result of intensive staff training and research.
UR Medicine infectious disease specialist Dr. Ghinwa Dumyati, who also leads the Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Prevention Program at the Center for Community Health & Prevention, recently spoke with NBC News about the study. Dumyati took part in the CDC surveys in 2011 and 2015 as part of the Emerging Infections Program.
