Ghinwa Dumyati, MD, Contributes to Nationwide Study on Healthcare Associated Infections

Ghinwa DumyatiPatients' hospital-based infection risk is slowly declining as a result of intensive staff training and research.

UR Medicine infectious disease specialist Dr. Ghinwa Dumyati, who also leads the Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Prevention Program at the Center for Community Health & Prevention, recently spoke with NBC News about the study. Dumyati took part in the CDC surveys in 2011 and 2015 as part of the Emerging Infections Program.

$1.8 M Grant Supports Life-Changing Cancer Services Across the Finger Lakes Region

Cancer Services ProgramThe Center for Community Health & Prevention (CCHP), of the University of Rochester Medical Center, was recently awarded a $1.8 million grant by the New York State Department of Health that will expand its Cancer Services Program of Monroe County to the surrounding Seneca, Yates, Wayne, Ontario and Livingston counties, re-naming it the "Cancer Services Program of the Finger Lakes Region" (CSP-FLR).
