Central Line Education

This Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) training module was created to efficiently educate nurses about the proper methods to care for central lines (or central venous catheters, "CVCs"). A central line maintenance bundle was developed as part of our five year quality improvement collaborative, sponsored by the New York State Department of Health. This training module details the maintenance bundle, which encompasses the current HICPAC guidelines, published in 2011, with updates from "Strategies to prevent central line-associated bloodstream infections in acute care hospitals: 2014 update" published in ICHE.
