URMC / Coronavirus (COVID-19) / Care for All Patients

Care for All Patients

We understand this is a challenging time, and we want you to know that we are here for you. UR Medicine is treating all patients who need care, not just patients with COVID-19. Seek care when you need it, whether you have an existing condition or are experiencing new symptoms. If you’re having a health emergency, such as a heart attack or stroke, call 911 immediately.

If you require assistance, one person may accompany you to an outpatient visit. If you are coming to a UR Medicine hospital, please review our visitor restrictions.

UR Medicine Primary Care, Specialty Care, Urgent Care Open

UR Medicine Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Urgent Care locations are open. Please log in to MyChart or call your provider if you have questions about treatment or an upcoming appointment.

With your safety as our highest priority, UR Medicine has redesigned our approach to care by providing more options for access including in-person, video or phone visits. Your provider will determine the type of appointment that’s best suited and safest for you. Our Urgent Care clinics are also offering telemedicine appointments for non-COVID-19-related concerns.

If you have an injury to your bone, joint, or back and need immediate specialty care, contact the UR Medicine Orthopaedic Injury Clinic. Orthopaedic specialists can care for these injuries at one of our outpatient sites (and refer patients for surgery, if necessary). Call (585) 275-5321 for assistance.

Coming to the Emergency Department

If you are directed to come to the Emergency Department by a health care provider, our care teams will prepare for your arrival and minimize risk to you, other patients, and staff. No visitors are allowed with adult patients in the Emergency Department. Only one visitor may accompany pediatric patients.

If you’re driving a patient to the Emergency Department, please bring them to the entrance and plan to leave the hospital campus until you are contacted to pick up the patient.

Universal Masking

UR Medicine is following the governor’s executive order mandating all New Yorkers to wear a mask or cloth covering their noses and mouths when they are in public and not able to maintain a 6-foot distance from others. Learn more about the masking requirements.
