 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) invites applications to support the establishment of two to three multinational, multidisciplinary Tuberculosis Research Units (TBRUs) that will operate as a collaborative network to study tuberculosis latency and persistence and their relation to active TB disease, in humans and animal models. This FOA will utilize the NIH U19 Research Program Cooperative Agreements award mechanism.

This is a limited submission opportunity; the University may submit only one (1) grant application. Interested faculty must submit an abstract, CV, and budget to Dean Puzas ( by March 1, 2013. Please use the words “Tuberculosis Research” in the subject line. The Deans will choose a candidate by March 14, 2013.

The optional Letter of Intent is due June 1, 2013. The full proposal is due July 1, 2013. It is important to remember that ORPA must receive electronic proposals five (5) business days prior to the sponsor’s deadline, along with a completed and signed University sign-off form.
