National Hub of Excellence for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Scientists
The purpose of the National Hub of Excellence is to support the academic development, professional training and career advancement to meet the communication needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) individuals pursing biomedical fields.
The two anchor institutions of this hub are the University of Rochester, whose experience and expertise is in research training, and the Rochester Institute of Technology, whose experience is in training and educating D/HH students.
The pipeline between the two anchor institutions will enable individuals to enter and exit the training at various points within their career.
We are further committed to collaborating with other training programs throughout the country who serve D/HH individuals, to act as a national education outreach and technical assistance resource centers.
