60 Specialists Finish Programs at EIOH

Eastman Institute for Oral Health celebrated the accomplishments of more than 60 professionals Friday during a ceremony that marks the beginning of a new chapter in their careers.

Each year, dentists from all over the world come to Eastman Institute for Oral Health to begin a challenging one to four years of training in various dental specialty programs. After they cross the stage to accept their certificates of completion, they will return home near and far to begin treating patients with new skills, teach, and/or conduct oral biology research.

Dr. Jack Caton Honored with Endowed Fellowship

A public celebration to mark reaching the initial goal of the endowed fellowship to honor Dr. Jack G. Caton, of Pittsford, chair and program director for Eastman Institute for Oral Health’s Periodontics program will take place at 3 p.m., May 8 at Eastman Institute for Oral Health, 625 Elmwood Avenue. Attendees will hear remarks from University of Rochester Medical Center CEO Dr. Mark Taubman, EIOH Director Dr. Eli Eliav, and alumni from Eastman’s Periodontics program.

Heng (Henry) Lin, DDS, PhD, a new postdoctoral associate in EIOH’s Center for Oral Biology, received a Young Investigator Award from the Worldwide Chinese Association for Dental Research.
