Dr. Tsigarida Named Program Director for Periodontics

Dr. Alexandra Tsigarida has been named Program Director of the Periodontics Program, effective  January 1, 2019.  Dr. Jack Caton, who remains chair of the department, previously served as Program Director.

Throughout her training and practice, Dr. Tsigarida consistently shows her leadership and high standards of quality in research, clinical care and her education approach. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, landing multiple awards in international research meetings, as well as the coveted Caton Fellowship. Dr. Tsigarida is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an active member of several national dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, International Team for Implantology, and International Association of Dental Research.

Following her dental training, she moved to the United Kingdom where she practiced as a general dentist. She then earned her certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University in 2013. She then worked as an Assistant Professor at Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University from 2013-2015 before becoming faculty at Eastman.
