Introducing the 2018 Graser Fellow

Oct. 3, 2018

Dr. AljumahDr. Ali Aljumah, from Kuwait City, Kuwait, was named this year's  Graser Implant Fellow (Eastman’s Fellowship in Implant Dentistry).

Are you excited for your year as implant fellow?

It is an honor to be here at Eastman. I am thrilled to work with the great faculty and residents.

What exactly are the responsibilities and opportunities for the Graser Implant Fellow?

I have the opportunity to plan and execute complex implant cases here at Eastman Dental and I look forward to expanding my implant surgical training in the field. The Fellow also has the unique opportunity to work alongside the faculty in educating and assisting the residents in clinic. I feel this fellowship will help aid me in my future academic aspirations as faculty.

How did you hear of the fellowship?

I graduated from dental school in West Virginia and completed my Prosthodontic residency at Indiana University. Eastman has a great national reputation regarding Prosthodontics and Implant dentistry and I wanted to be a part of it.

How do you think Eastman is competitive above other programs? The program has incredible published research as well as well-versed and experienced faculty. I think it is safe to say it is extremely competitive in the Prosthodontic world.

What are your plans after the fellowship?

To return home to private practice and teach part time at university

What is your favorite thing about Rochester so far?

Since I am from a warm country, I am looking forward to the snow.

Do you have your snow boots yet?

Not yet. Sneakers are okay, right? (He says with a smile.)
