Mental Health Therapist
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester invites applications for a full time therapist position to join its Behavioral Health Partners (BHP) team. BHP provides mental health care to eligible University of Rochester employees and their adult dependents in an outpatient setting. Our multidisciplinary team works together to provide medication consultation and psychotherapy for common conditions such as anxiety, stress, and depression. The successful candidate will have expertise in evidence-based treatments, will be skilled in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and will be able to collaborate effectively with primary care providers. We are seeking a qualified master’s level candidate (LCSW or LCSW-R, LFMTs, or MHCs) with three years post graduate experience, strong clinical and diagnostic skills to join our vibrant team. The therapist provides comprehensive mental health and/or dual diagnosis services for individuals who have a diagnosable mental illness, functions as the primary clinician and is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, therapy/counseling, and education services for patients and families within the BHP model of care.
3 years experience required. Master’s degree from a Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) accredited program with major course work in mental health counseling. Requires NYS licensure as a mental health practitioner (e.g., Mental Health Counselor, Creative Arts Therapist) or limited permit eligible. If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 36 months to obtain the NYS license. Candidates must possess communication and organizational skills and a high level of proficiency in MS Office programs.
Outpatient Access Specialist
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester invites applications for a full time Outpatient Access Specialist (OAS) position to join its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) team. EAP is a confidential service that provides employees and household members of our customer organizations the opportunity to discuss personal or work-related problems with a professional counselor 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The OAS, as the face of the program, provides a warm welcome to patients, families, and other customers in person and over the phone. Always demonstrating UR Medicine’s ICARE values, the OAS is responsible for reception, check-in, check-out, and telephone call triage. The experienced OAS will also help train new employees. This position is also the primary backup for the Behavioral Health Partners OAS and occasional support for any other programs/clinics in the Department of Psychiatry as is necessary.
2.5 years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. High School diploma required. Demonstrated customer service skills required. Medical terminology and electronic medical records experience preferred.
